HAL Aerospace Museum Reopens in Bengaluru with Major Tech-Driven Upgrade
The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum in Bengaluru has officially reopened its doors to the public following a comprehensive and technologically advanced renovation. The revamped facility, unveiled by HAL Chairman and Managing Director DK Sunil, promises an enhanced visitor experience through immersive installations and cutting-edge aviation exhibits.
Key Attractions and Immersive Exhibits
The upgraded museum introduces several new attractions designed to captivate aviation enthusiasts and general visitors alike. Among the highlights is a life-size replica of the HTFE-25 engine, providing a detailed look at advanced propulsion technology. A 3D runway display features models of the Tejas fighter jet and the Prachand light combat helicopter, offering a dynamic visual experience.
Wings of Bharat, a multi-sensory show set in a hangar-like environment, chronicles HAL's significant contributions to India's aerospace sector. This immersive presentation uses audio-visual effects to narrate the organization's legacy and achievements.
Interactive Zones and Hands-On Experiences
Visitors can engage with Tejasvi, a holographic avatar that interactively presents HAL's history and milestones. The museum also includes a dedicated children's zone with:
- Interactive games and design activities
- Educational quizzes and an augmented reality photo booth
- An immersive space shuttle module for exploratory play
For hands-on aviation experience, a Dhruv helicopter cockpit simulator allows visitors to try their hand at flying, adding a practical element to the educational visit.
