Helicopter-Style Drone Crashes in Etawah Wheat Field During Authorized Test Flight
A drone resembling a helicopter crashed into a wheat field in Nandpur village, located in the Saifai area of Etawah district, on Friday evening. The incident triggered significant panic among local villagers, who promptly alerted the police authorities.

Upon receiving the alert, police and fire brigade teams swiftly arrived at the scene. They managed to bring the situation under control efficiently. The area surrounding the crash site was immediately cordoned off as officials commenced a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
Official Clarification on the Incident
The district administration has clarified that the crash occurred due to technical reasons during a test flight. This flight was conducted with prior permission granted by the civil aviation department. Importantly, no loss of life or property damage was reported as a result of the incident.
Additional District Magistrate of Etawah, Abhinav Ranjan Shrivastava, provided detailed insights. He confirmed that the Saifai airstrip was used with explicit authorization from the civil aviation department for this operation.
Details of the Test Flight and Company Involved
The test flight was being conducted by LAT Aerospace company, which was operating an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) prototype. During the flight, the drone experienced a loss of control, leading to its crash in the field adjacent to Nandpur village.

The crash caused considerable alarm among the villagers, exacerbated by the drone's helicopter-like appearance. A large crowd gathered at the site following the incident. ADM Shrivastava emphasized that the accident was purely technical in nature and should not be interpreted as a serious security threat to the area or its residents.
