ViewSonic has officially introduced its latest range of durable, maintenance-friendly projectors to the Indian market. The company announced the launch of its LSD400 Series of lamp-free laser projectors alongside the LSD300W ST short-throw LED model on December 18, 2025. This strategic move is aimed squarely at transforming visual technology in educational and institutional settings across the country.
High-Brightness Laser Projectors for Large Spaces
The core of the new launch is the LSD400 Series, which comprises three models: the LSD400W, LSD400HD, and LSD400HD-ST. These projectors are engineered to replace traditional lamp-based systems with a more robust and efficient solution. The standout feature is their third-generation laser phosphor light source, which delivers a powerful 4,000 ANSI lumens of brightness. This makes them ideal for illuminating medium to large venues like auditoriums, university lecture halls, and sprawling coaching centres, with support for screen sizes up to an impressive 300 inches.
Beyond raw brightness, the laser technology promises significant operational benefits. ViewSonic claims the light source is rated for an extended lifespan of up to 30,000 hours. This dramatically reduces the frequency and cost associated with lamp replacements. Furthermore, the company states these models can slash power consumption by as much as 49 percent compared to equivalent projectors using conventional lamps, offering long-term savings on energy bills.
Short-Throw Solution for Compact Classrooms
Recognising the space constraints in many Indian classrooms, ViewSonic has also unveiled the LSD300W-ST short-throw LED projector. This model is specifically designed for smaller tutorial rooms and interactive learning zones. Its key advantage is a 0.49 throw ratio, which allows it to project a large 100-inch image from a mere 1.06 metres away. This short distance minimises shadows and glare when an instructor stands near the screen, facilitating uninterrupted teaching.
The LSD300W-ST is no slouch in performance, offering 3,300 ANSI lumens (3,700 centre lumens). Its LED light source boasts an even longer rated life of 60,000 hours, virtually eliminating the need for light source maintenance. Adding to its versatility, this projector supports 360-degree projection, enabling creative installations on ceilings or floors for immersive, activity-based learning experiences.
Built for Durability and Easy Management
A critical challenge in many Indian environments is dust, which can clog projector filters and cause overheating. ViewSonic addresses this head-on by equipping both the LSD400 series and the LSD300W-ST with a sealed, filter-free IP5X-rated optical engine. This design prevents dust ingress, ensuring reliable performance and reducing downtime in dusty classrooms and halls.
For users, setup and daily operation are simplified. Features include instant on/off functionality, comprehensive keystone correction (up to 40 degrees horizontally and vertically), and four-corner adjustment for perfect image alignment. On the management front, the LSD400HD-ST model comes certified for Crestron and Q-SYS control systems, with additional support for AMX, PJLink, ATEN, and Extron. This allows IT administrators to monitor and manage projectors centrally across a campus. The LSD300W-ST supports wireless presentations via ViewShare and allows for easy firmware updates via USB.
By launching these lamp-free projectors, ViewSonic is providing Indian educational institutions—from schools and coaching centres to universities—with a compelling proposition: high-brightness projection that demands less maintenance and offers lower total cost of ownership, perfectly suited for the rigours of daily academic use.
