Samsung Electronics has taken the wraps off its next-generation portable entertainment device, the Freestyle+, announcing its global launch. This AI-powered smart projector, unveiled just ahead of the CES 2026 tech showcase, promises a highly personalised viewing experience by intelligently adapting to its surroundings.
A New Vision for Portable Displays
Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, stated that the Freestyle+ embodies the company's goal of creating displays that seamlessly fit into people's mobile lifestyles. He emphasized that the device merges genuine portability with smart artificial intelligence, which fine-tunes both the environment and the content to deliver a reliable, high-quality experience in any location.
Intelligent Features Powered by AI
The core of the Freestyle+ is its AI OptiScreen technology, which automatically optimizes the picture for various spaces. This is achieved through a suite of intelligent capabilities designed to tackle common projection challenges.
3D Auto Keystone instantly fixes image distortion, even when projecting onto challenging surfaces like room corners, curtains, or slanted walls.
Real-time Focus ensures the picture stays sharp and clear, continuously adjusting as the projector is moved or rotated to prevent blurring.
When used with a matching accessory screen, Screen Fit automatically resizes the image to perfectly align with the screen's borders.
Furthermore, the Wall Calibration feature analyzes the color and texture of the wall or surface being used, minimizing visual distractions to produce a cleaner picture.
Vision AI Companion and Enhanced Performance
The smart viewing experience is elevated by the integration of Vision AI Companion, Samsung's personalized AI platform for screens. It combines an enhanced Bixby with AI services from global partners, allowing for more natural, conversational control over on-screen content.
Housed in a compact cylindrical design, the projector boasts 430 ISO Lumens of brightness, which Samsung claims is nearly double that of its predecessor. Users can dive directly into a vast content library with built-in access to Samsung TV Plus, certified OTT partners, and the Samsung Gaming Hub, eliminating the need for external streaming devices.
For audio, the Freestyle+ is equipped with a built-in 360-degree speaker for immersive sound. It also supports Q-Symphony technology, enabling it to work in harmony with compatible Samsung soundbars for a more powerful audio experience.
This global launch positions the Samsung Freestyle+ as a significant step forward in making premium, adaptable entertainment truly portable, leveraging AI to remove the traditional hassles of projection setup and optimization.
