OnePlus Pad Go 2 India Launch: 5G, Stylus Support Confirmed for Dec 17
OnePlus Pad Go 2 India Launch on December 17

OnePlus has officially confirmed the Indian debut of its next-generation budget tablet, the OnePlus Pad Go 2, scheduled for December 17. The device will launch alongside the anticipated OnePlus 15R smartphone, marking a significant product refresh for the company's affordable tablet lineup.

What's New in OnePlus Pad Go 2

The upcoming tablet represents the first update to the Pad Go series in over two years since the original model launched in late 2023. OnePlus appears to be making substantial improvements this time, with the company already confirming two major upgrades: stylus support and 5G connectivity on the top-end variant.

This marks a significant departure from the original Pad Go, which lacked stylus compatibility. The company's premium Pad series has consistently offered separate stylus and keyboard accessories, and now this functionality is trickling down to the more affordable Go lineup.

Key Specifications and Features

The OnePlus Pad Go 2 will be available in two attractive color options: Shadow Black and Lavender Drift. The 5G internet support will be exclusive to the high-end configuration featuring 8GB RAM and 256GB storage in the Shadow Black color variant.

Teaser images reveal that the tablet will feature a small circular camera bump on the back, suggesting a single rear camera setup for photography. More importantly, the device is confirmed to run on the latest OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 out of the box.

OxygenOS 16 brings numerous enhancements including advanced lockscreen customizations, smooth fluid animations, and AI-powered features integrated into first-party applications like the recorder and notes app. The big question remains whether OnePlus will extend its Plus Mind ecosystem to tablets, especially since the OnePlus Pad 3 reviewed earlier this year lacked both the Plus key and Mind Space app.

Pricing and Market Positioning

Considering the original OnePlus Pad Go launched at ₹19,999 in India, industry experts expect similar pricing for its successor. This positioning makes strategic sense within OnePlus's tablet portfolio, which includes the OnePlus Pad Lite at approximately ₹15,000 and last year's OnePlus Pad 2 around the ₹30,000 mark.

The inclusion of 5G support and stylus compatibility at this price point could make the Pad Go 2 a compelling option in the competitive budget tablet segment. With the prominent display of the OnePlus AI logo in teaser materials, many are hopeful that Gemini integration and enhanced AI features might also be in development for the device.
