Fresh off the global launch of its flagship OnePlus 15, the Chinese smartphone maker is already shifting gears towards its next releases. The tech world is now abuzz with details about the upcoming OnePlus Nord 6 and the confirmed launch of the gaming-centric OnePlus Turbo 6 series.
OnePlus Nord 6 Surfaces on UAE Certification Website
The successor to the OnePlus Nord 5, which debuted in July 2025, is inching closer to its official unveiling. The device, expected to be named the OnePlus Nord 6, has now been listed on the TDRA (Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority) certification database in the United Arab Emirates.
The filing lists the smartphone with the model number CPH2795. This is the same identifier that was spotted last month on Malaysia's SIRIM certification website. While such regulatory listings rarely reveal detailed hardware specifications, the TDRA entry serves a crucial purpose: it confirms the Nord 6 branding and validates that the device is technically ready for sale in the UAE market.
This appearance in the UAE, combined with its earlier certification in Malaysia, strongly indicates that OnePlus is in the final stages of preparing the Nord 6 for a multi-country rollout. The multiple regulatory nods firmly put the device on track for an imminent release.
OnePlus Turbo 6 Series Launch: Date and Key Features Confirmed
In parallel, OnePlus has officially announced the launch of its new gaming smartphone series. The company confirmed it will unveil the OnePlus Turbo 6 series in China on January 8.
The series will comprise two models: the OnePlus Turbo 6 and the Turbo 6V. One of the most talked-about features of the upcoming phones is their colossal battery capacity. The devices are set to house a massive 9000 mAh battery, a significant leap aimed at hardcore gamers and power users.
Louis Jie, the head of OnePlus China, built hype for the launch in a post on the social media platform Weibo. He described the upcoming series as a "performance and battery life supernova." Jie claimed the phones would not only deliver "exceeding performance limits and ridiculously long battery life" but also boast a top-tier e-sports display, full-level water resistance, a flagship-quality build, and a comprehensive configuration. He concluded by stating that the new Turbo series would "completely rewrite everyone's impression of Turbo-level products."
What This Means for the Smartphone Market
The flurry of activity from OnePlus signals a busy start to the year in the competitive smartphone segment. By working on two distinct fronts—the value-oriented Nord series and the performance-focused Turbo lineup—OnePlus is aiming to capture a wider audience.
The Nord 6's certifications suggest a launch in key markets like the Middle East and Southeast Asia is likely in the coming weeks or months. Meanwhile, the Turbo 6 series, with its extreme battery promise, is poised to challenge other gaming phones and could set a new benchmark for battery endurance in its segment. Indian consumers, who are a core audience for the Nord series, will be keenly watching for any India-specific launch announcements for both lineups.
