Motorola Edge 70 Launches in India: World's Thinnest at 5.99mm, Priced at Rs. 29,999
Motorola Edge 70 India Launch: Price, Specs, Sale Date

Motorola has officially introduced its latest flagship contender, the Edge 70, to the Indian market, marking a significant expansion of its premium Edge portfolio. The launch, which took place on Monday, December 15, 2025, puts a strong emphasis on groundbreaking design fused with high-performance hardware and intelligent software.

Design and Display: Setting New Standards in Slimness

The most striking feature of the Motorola Edge 70 is its remarkably sleek profile. The company claims it is their thinnest smartphone ever created, with a jaw-dropping thickness of just 5.99 mm and a feather-light weight of 159 grams. This feat is achieved using a premium, aircraft-grade aluminium frame that promises both durability and a premium in-hand feel.

Complementing the slim build is a stunning 6.7-inch Super HD 1.5K Extreme AMOLED display. The screen boasts a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling, an eye-searing peak brightness of 4500 nits, and support for HDR10+. Furthermore, Motorola has partnered with Pantone to ensure superior colour accuracy and skin tone reproduction on the display.

Performance and AI: Power Meets Intelligence

Under the hood, the Edge 70 is a powerhouse. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, making it the world's first ultra-thin device to utilise this platform. It comes in a single configuration of 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The real magic, however, lies in its software integration. The phone runs on Hello UI based on Android 16 and is deeply integrated with Moto AI 2.0. This is further enhanced by direct access to Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, and Perplexity AI, aiming to deliver a smarter and more fluid user experience. Motorola guarantees three years of major OS upgrades and four years of security updates.

Camera, Battery, and Launch Offers

The photography department is headlined by a versatile triple-camera setup on the rear, all featuring 50MP sensors. This includes a primary camera with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), a 50MP ultra-wide and macro camera, and a 50MP front-facing camera. The system is packed with AI imaging capabilities and supports 4K video recording at 60fps across all lenses.

Despite the slim design, Motorola has packed in a substantial 5000mAh silicon-carbon battery, claimed to offer up to 40 hours of usage. It supports 68W TurboPower wired charging, 15W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. The device also features a vapour cooling chamber, Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, wide 5G band support, and military-grade durability with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

The Motorola Edge 70 is priced at Rs. 29,999 for the 8GB/256GB variant. As an introductory offer, customers can avail an additional bank discount of Rs. 1,000, bringing the effective launch price down to Rs. 28,999. It will be available in three Pantone-curated colours: Bronze Green, Lily Pad, and Gadget Grey, all featuring a fabric-inspired textured finish.

Sales in India will commence on December 23, 2025, through Flipkart, Motorola's official website, and leading retail stores across the country.
