Mahindra & Mahindra has officially launched its latest electric vehicle for the Indian market, the Mahindra XUV 3XO electric SUV. This new model directly replaces the XUV400 EV and is set to intensify the competition in the country's fast-growing electric SUV segment.
Price, Variants, and Launch Timeline
The new Mahindra XUV 3XO EV is offered in two primary variants: AX5 and AX7 L. The company has announced an ex-showroom price of Rs 13.89 lakh for the AX5 variant and Rs 14.96 lakh for the top-end AX7 L. For faster charging, a 7.2kW AC charger is available as an optional accessory for an additional Rs 50,000.
While the official bookings are slated to commence shortly, the automaker has confirmed that the first deliveries to customers will begin from February 23, 2026. This strategic launch positions Mahindra to directly challenge the popular Tata Nexon EV.
Design and Feature Highlights
Based on the internal combustion engine (ICE) version of the XUV 3XO, the electric model retains a familiar silhouette but incorporates distinct EV-specific elements. Key exterior differentiators include rose-gold accents on the grille, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, and an EV charging port on the left front fender. It also sports LED fog lamps and a dedicated EV badge on the tailgate.
The interior layout mirrors the ICE variant but is packed with premium features. The cabin boasts a panoramic sunroof and twin 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. Other notable amenities are:
- Adrenox connected car tech with built-in Alexa
- 65W Type-C fast charging ports
- A cooled glove box
- A premium seven-speaker Harman Kardon music system with Dolby Atmos
Safety, Battery, and Performance
Mahindra has equipped the XUV 3XO EV with a comprehensive safety suite. It includes Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a 360-degree camera, and six airbags. Standard safety features like an auto-dimming IRVM, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), and ABS are also part of the package.
Under the hood, or more accurately under the floor, the electric SUV inherits its powertrain from the XUV400. It uses a 39.4kWh battery pack paired with a single electric motor that drives the front wheels. This setup generates a healthy 147 bhp and 310 Nm of torque. Mahindra claims a range of 285 kilometers on a single full charge, making it a practical option for urban commutes and occasional highway journeys.
The launch of the XUV 3XO EV marks a significant step in Mahindra's electric vehicle roadmap, offering a modern, feature-rich alternative in a segment currently dominated by a single key player. Its competitive pricing and loaded feature list are likely to attract eco-conscious buyers looking for a stylish and capable electric SUV.
