Hyundai Next-Generation Creta Spied Testing with Major Upgrades
Hyundai has once again been captured testing the highly anticipated next-generation Creta SUV in South Korea. The latest spy images provide a clearer look at both the exterior and interior, signaling significant enhancements over the current model. The second-generation Creta, launched in 2020 and refreshed over two years ago, now faces stiff competition from rivals like the Tata Sierra, next-gen Seltos, and upcoming Duster, pushing Hyundai to innovate.
Exterior and Interior Enhancements Revealed
The spy shots showcase the SUV equipped with larger 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in 235/45 section rubber. This marks a notable upgrade from the current model, which offers 17-inch wheels and 18-inch options for N-line variants. Inside, the test vehicle features an electrically adjustable front passenger seat with controls accessible from the rear, confirming the inclusion of a boss mode for added convenience.
The cabin appears more upmarket, with seats finished in black leatherette upholstery, likely reserved for higher trims. Cleaner surfaces and design elements align with Hyundai's latest global models, enhancing the premium feel. Additionally, the rear bench seats come with adjustable headrests for all three passengers, improving comfort and safety.
New Platform and Design Overhaul
The next-generation Creta will be built on an all-new platform, expected to be Hyundai's K3 architecture, which also underpins the recently launched next-gen Seltos. Internally codenamed SX3, this platform allows for a complete design overhaul, featuring sleeker and more contemporary styling that will differentiate it from the outgoing model.
Larger overall dimensions are anticipated, translating into a stronger road presence and improved interior space, addressing consumer demands for more roominess and versatility.
Powertrain and Transmission Options
Powertrain options are likely to remain largely unchanged, offering a range of engines to suit diverse preferences:
