Apple Officially Unveils Refreshed Studio Display Lineup with Major Upgrades
Apple has officially taken the wraps off its refreshed Studio Display lineup, introducing the all-new Studio Display XDR and an upgraded standard Studio Display. Both monitors are now available for pre-order starting today, March 4, with deliveries and in-store availability scheduled to begin on March 11.
Studio Display XDR: The World's Best Pro Display
The headliner of this launch is the Studio Display XDR, which Apple is boldly calling "the world's best pro display." This premium monitor features a 27-inch 5K Retina XDR panel with a mini-LED backlight system, boasting over 2,300 local dimming zones for exceptional contrast control. It delivers an impressive 2,000 nits of peak HDR brightness and maintains a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio for stunning visual fidelity.
The display supports both P3 and Adobe RGB colour gamuts, ensuring dead-accurate colours for professional workflows. With a 120Hz refresh rate featuring Adaptive Sync technology that dynamically adjusts frame rates between 47Hz and 120Hz, this monitor is specifically engineered for demanding professionals including:

Enhanced Standard Studio Display with Thunderbolt 5

The audio system has been substantially improved with a six-speaker configuration that now delivers 30 percent deeper bass compared to previous models. This Thunderbolt 5 capability enables users to daisy-chain up to four Studio Displays together, creating a massive workspace with nearly 60 million pixels. Both the Studio Display XDR and the standard Studio Display share several premium features. Each includes a studio-quality three-microphone array designed for clear audio capture during calls and recordings. Both models come packaged with a Thunderbolt 5 Pro cable in the box for immediate connectivity.
The charging capabilities differ between models to accommodate various power requirements. The Studio Display XDR can deliver up to 140W of charging power, sufficient to fast-charge even a 16-inch MacBook Pro. The standard Studio Display provides up to 96W of charging power, still ample for most laptop charging needs.
Pricing and Availability in India
In the Indian market, the Studio Display starts at Rs 1,89,900 with a tilt-adjustable stand. The premium Studio Display XDR, which effectively replaces the older Pro Display XDR model, begins at Rs 3,99,900 and includes both tilt- and height-adjustable functionality straight out of the box.
Both display models are available in standard glass or nano-texture glass options, with the latter providing reduced glare for challenging lighting environments. Apple is also offering education pricing that provides a Rs 12,000 discount on each model for qualified educational purchasers.
