A proposal worth Rs 20.15 crore for the expansion of the Arts College at Lucknow University (LU) has been formally submitted to the state government. The comprehensive plan encompasses the construction of new academic buildings, a dedicated exhibition hall, staff quarters, and separate hostels for male and female students. Additionally, the proposal aims to revive key academic sections such as sculpture, photography, and crafts, which have historical significance.

Historical and Cultural Importance Highlighted

Principal Ratan Kumar stated, "Recently, the issue of renovation of Arts College was raised in the legislative assembly by a member, considering its historical and cultural importance." He emphasized that the college serves as a vital institution for preserving and promoting arts education in the region.

Expected Benefits for Students and Faculty

"The proposal, if approved, will help improve academic infrastructure and provide better facilities for students across departments. It will support both academic growth and overall student development at the arts college," Kumar added. The expansion is expected to enhance the learning environment, accommodate more students, and offer modern amenities for creative pursuits.
