A 42-year-old police constable lost his life, and another man sustained critical injuries after their motorcycle veered out of control and collided with an electric pole in Jaipur's Sanganer area early Wednesday morning. The incident occurred while the duo was returning from duty.
Victims Identified
The deceased constable has been identified as Lokendra, who was posted at the Jaipur Police Lines. The injured individual, Rohit alias Rahul Gupta, is undergoing treatment at SMS Hospital with serious injuries. Lokendra hailed from Bharatpur district and had been serving with the Jaipur Police Lines.
Details of the Incident
According to police officials, Lokendra had completed his night patrolling duty in the Subhash Chowk area and was heading home when the accident took place. Preliminary investigations indicate that the motorcycle lost control, hit a divider, and then crashed into an electric pole near the roadside.
Local residents promptly alerted the authorities and assisted in transporting the injured men to SMS Hospital. However, doctors declared Constable Lokendra dead upon arrival, while Rohit remains admitted with severe injuries.
Investigation Underway
Police are examining multiple factors that may have contributed to the crash, including overspeeding, fatigue after night duty, or loss of balance. An officer stated, "We are collecting CCTV footage from nearby areas to determine whether overspeeding, fatigue, or another cause led to the accident." The investigation is ongoing.
