Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, officially launched India's first Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) barrier-less tolling system on Friday. The system was inaugurated at the Chorayasi Toll Plaza on the Surat–Bharuch stretch of National Highway 48 in Gujarat.
How the Barrier-Less Tolling System Works
The MLFF system allows vehicles to pass through toll plazas without stopping, utilizing advanced technologies such as Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and FASTag for seamless toll collection. This innovation eliminates the need for physical barriers and manual transactions, enabling a smooth flow of traffic.
