IDA Demolishes 20 Structures for Key Road in Indore

The Indore Development Authority (IDA) on Wednesday demolished 20 structures that were obstructing the construction of a crucial road in the Town Development Scheme (TPS) 4. This action is expected to clear the path for a 30-metre-wide road linking the bypass to Jhalaria.

Project Overview

The TPS-4 project, spread over 200 hectares, is primarily a residential scheme. Infrastructure works, including drainage and road construction, are currently underway. A key component of the scheme is a 1,100-metre-long road, of which a 200-metre stretch had been illegally occupied by structures for a long time.

Demolition Drive

On Wednesday, IDA officials removed temporary tin sheds and several permanent concrete structures built on the proposed 30-metre-wide Master Plan road. The drive was conducted to expedite the road construction, which had been delayed due to these encroachments.

IDA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Parikshit Zade informed the Times of India that the structures had been hindering progress for a significant period. “This action will now allow completion of the 30-metre-wide road, which is essential for establishing a direct link between the bypass and Jhalaria,” he said.

The demolition marks a significant step towards improving connectivity in the area, reducing travel time for residents and easing traffic congestion on alternative routes.
