Pune: Wakad will come alive on Sunday morning as Happy Streets returns on May 24, transforming the stretch from Sai Chowk to PCMC Garden into a traffic-free public space packed with fitness, games, music, and community activities. Organised by The Times of India, the event will be held from 6.30am to 10am and is expected to attract residents across age groups.
Fitness and Dance Sessions
The main stage will feature energetic Zumba and Bollywood fitness sessions to kickstart the day. Sports enthusiasts can participate in activities such as badminton, basketball, football, table tennis, darts, skateboarding, and waveboarding at the sports arena.
Live Music and Entertainment
Adding to the festive mood, a live band performance will entertain visitors throughout the morning. The kids arena will include attractions such as Bachpan Gali, mini golf, mini bowling, giant Jenga, hula hoops, snakes and ladders, along with several traditional games.
Wellness and Active Lifestyle
Fitness lovers can join functional cardio, mudgal workouts, skipping rope sessions, and tug of war activities. Yoga and meditation sessions will offer a more relaxed experience, while the cycle station will promote active lifestyles. Happy Streets aims to encourage community bonding and give citizens a chance to enjoy their neighbourhood without traffic for a few hours.
