Digital Zaid Crop Survey Starts in Prayagraj on May 1

Prayagraj: Following the digital crop surveys for Kharif and Rabi seasons, the survey for Zaid crops has officially begun in Prayagraj district starting Friday, May 1, and will continue until May 31. The survey covers 13,50,805 land plots (Gatas) identified under the Zaid crop cultivation area within the district.

Objectives of the Survey

The initiative aims to generate precise crop-related data and ensure that farmers receive the benefits of government schemes in a transparent manner. Additionally, it creates employment opportunities in rural areas by engaging local youth.

Employment Opportunity for Youth

Deputy Director (Agriculture), Pawan Kumar Vishwakarma, stated that digital surveys of numerous fields and crops are underway across all revenue villages in the district. Young individuals can earn up to Rs 30,000 by conducting digital crop surveys for one month. To participate, they must possess an Android mobile phone.

How to Participate

Interested individuals can obtain their official IDs by contacting government officials such as the Nayab Tehsildar or the ADO (Agriculture) of their respective Tehsil. Once an ID is generated, a dedicated application will be installed on their mobile phone, enabling them to conduct the digital crop surveys.

Survey Process

To conduct a digital crop survey, one simply needs to visit the designated field and select the specific crop name from the options provided within the mobile application. This action instantly displays the complete details of the concerned farmer. A payment of Rs 10 is provided for surveying a single ‘Khasra’, and an individual may conduct surveys for a maximum of 3,000 ‘Khasras’.

Background

The state government formally initiated digital crop surveys for all 93,870 revenue villages across 75 districts of the state two years ago as a key farmer-centric move. This initiative helps understand the types of crops sown and the irrigation methods adopted across all farmlands in the state.
