Centre Set to Approve Bengaluru Metro Phase 3 Double-Decker

The Centre is set to approve Bengaluru Metro Phase 3, which will include a double-decker corridor. This ambitious project aims to expand the city's metro network significantly.

Phase 3 Details

Phase 3 will consist of two lines. The first is a 32.5-km corridor from JP Nagar 4th Phase to Kempapura along the Outer Ring Road. The second is a 12.15-km corridor from Hosahalli to Kadabagere along Magadi Road. Together, these corridors will add 44.65 km to the metro network.

Double-Decker Feature

The double-decker design will allow for road traffic to pass beneath the metro tracks, optimizing land use and reducing congestion. This innovative approach is expected to ease traffic in key areas of Bengaluru.

The project is awaiting final approval from the central government. Once approved, construction is expected to begin soon, with completion targeted in phases over the coming years.

This expansion is part of Namma Metro's ongoing efforts to provide efficient public transport in Bengaluru, one of India's fastest-growing cities. The new lines will connect major residential and commercial hubs, benefiting daily commuters.
