The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has announced free bus travel for students appearing for the II PUC (Pre-University Course) exam-2 in Bengaluru. The initiative aims to support students by easing their commute during the examination period.
Free Travel Period and Eligibility
The free travel facility will be available from March 3 to March 20, 2025. All students appearing for the II PUC exam-2 can avail of this benefit by showing their valid hall ticket to the bus conductor. The offer is applicable on all BMTC buses, including ordinary, Vajra, and AC services, within the city limits.
How to Avail the Facility
Students need to present their exam hall ticket while boarding the bus. No separate pass or application is required. The BMTC has instructed its staff to ensure smooth implementation of the scheme and to assist students as needed.
Background and Impact
This is not the first time BMTC has introduced such a scheme. Similar free travel initiatives have been implemented during previous board exams to reduce the financial burden on students and their families. The move is expected to benefit thousands of students across Bengaluru, especially those from economically weaker sections who rely on public transport.
