Bengaluru civic bodies are racing against time to clear storm water drains and rajakaluves ahead of the monsoon season. North City Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar has instructed officials to complete desilting works before the onset of heavy rains. The directive aims to prevent waterlogging and flooding, which have plagued the city in previous years. Officials have been tasked with ensuring that all major drains are free of debris and silt to facilitate smooth water flow. The civic body is also coordinating with other departments to address encroachments and blockages. Residents have been urged to cooperate by not dumping waste into drains. The monsoon is expected to arrive in early June, leaving a narrow window for completion of the works.
