Jaipur: An Air India Express flight traveling from Delhi to Bhubaneswar was diverted to Jaipur on Wednesday morning due to adverse weather conditions encountered along the route.
Flight IX 1057, which was scheduled to depart from Delhi at 6:20 AM and arrive in Bhubaneswar at 8:35 AM, was redirected to Jaipur at 9:04 AM. The aircraft later resumed its journey at 11:47 AM after the weather conditions improved sufficiently for safe travel.
An airline spokesperson confirmed that the diversion was necessitated by poor weather along the flight path. “Due to adverse weather conditions en route to Bhubaneswar, one of our flights from Delhi was diverted briefly to Jaipur. When the weather improved, the flight resumed operations. We regret the delay caused by circumstances beyond our control,” the spokesperson stated.
Passengers on board were accommodated during the unscheduled stop, and the airline worked to minimize the disruption. The flight eventually reached its destination after the weather cleared, ensuring the safety of all travelers.
This incident highlights the challenges airlines face with unpredictable weather patterns, particularly during the monsoon season. Air India Express, along with other carriers, prioritizes passenger safety above all else, and diversions are a standard precautionary measure when conditions become hazardous.
