Rajasthan Police Arrests Cyber Fraud Mastermind from Pune

In a major breakthrough, Rajasthan Police arrested the alleged mastermind of a staggering Rs 500 crore cyber fraud from Pune on July 7, 2026. The accused, identified as 34-year-old Rohan Patel, was wanted in connection with a sophisticated investment scam that duped thousands of victims across multiple states.

Details of the Fraud

According to police officials, the scam operated through fake investment platforms promising high returns. Victims were lured via social media and messaging apps to invest in non-existent schemes. The network spanned over 10 states, with a complex web of shell companies and digital wallets used to launder money. “The accused used advanced technical methods to hide his identity and transfer funds,” said a senior officer from the Cyber Crime Cell.

Investigations revealed that the fraud involved over 50,000 victims, with losses ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 50 lakh each. The mastermind, Patel, was tracked down after a six-month operation using digital forensics and financial trail analysis.
