Panchkula Police Bust Illegal Mining Near Burj Kotian

Panchkula police successfully dismantled an illegal mining operation near Burj Kotian in the Amravati area, seizing a tractor-trolley loaded with illegally extracted material. The operation was carried out on Friday evening following a tip-off received at the Amravati police post regarding illicit mining activities in a riverbed.

Covert Approach to Nab Suspects

To avoid alerting the suspects, who often flee upon spotting police vehicles, the team adopted an undercover strategy. Sub-inspector Pritam Singh, in-charge of the police post, along with a colleague, borrowed a motorcycle from locals and reached the site dressed in plain clothes, posing as commuters. This approach allowed them to approach the location without raising any suspicion.

Caught Red-Handed

The team managed to reach the spot undetected and caught the suspects red-handed while they were engaged in illegal mining. The tractor-trolley was immediately seized and taken to the Amravati police post. The mining department has been informed, and further legal proceedings are underway.
