Sonam Wangchuk Demands Education Reform, Says Netas' Kids Must Study in Govt Schools
Sonam Wangchuk: Netas' Kids Should Attend Govt Schools

Ladakh activist Sonam Wangchuk arrived at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Saturday to participate in a protest organized by the Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP). The demonstration demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged lapses in examination conduct, including paper leaks and irregularities.

Wangchuk Calls for Systemic Change

Speaking at the protest, Wangchuk emphasized that the call for the minister's resignation was just the beginning. He stressed that the larger objective was comprehensive reform of the education system. According to him, exam irregularities and paper leaks are symptoms of deeper systemic problems that require greater transparency, accountability, and quality in education.

Thankful for Peaceful Protest

Wangchuk also expressed gratitude to the government for allowing the peaceful protest to take place without disruption. He argued that elected representatives should send their children to government schools, stating that policymakers lack a sufficient stake in the system. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Pariksha Pe Charcha' initiative, Wangchuk said the focus should now shift to discussing what is going wrong with examinations.
