National PG College Lucknow to Launch Engineering Programmes

Lucknow's National PG College has announced plans to introduce engineering programmes at its upcoming Chandraval campus, starting from the 2027–28 academic session. The new offerings will be complemented by professional and law courses, marking a significant expansion of the college's academic portfolio.

New Campus Development

The Chandraval campus, located on Bijnor Road, spans nearly 20 acres. It is being developed to align with emerging industry demands, with a strong emphasis on technology, applied sciences, and interdisciplinary education. The college aims to equip students with skills relevant to the evolving job market.

Engineering and AI Focus

Principal Devendra Kumar Singh stated, “We are planning to introduce core engineering branches such as computer science, mechanical, and civil engineering with a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence and machine learning.” The integration of AI-focused courses is intended to prepare students for cutting-edge technological fields.

Initially, the campus is expected to commence operations in the 2026–27 session, offering courses in biotechnology, agriculture, pharmacy, food technology, and law. The addition of engineering programmes in the following academic year will represent a strategic shift for the college, which has traditionally concentrated on arts, commerce, science, and professional undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Implementation Plans

“We will soon be sending detailed proposals to the authorities to take this vision forward,” said Singh. The college is actively working on the necessary approvals to ensure the timely launch of these programmes.

This initiative underscores National PG College's commitment to adapting its curriculum to meet contemporary educational and industrial needs, particularly in the fields of technology and applied sciences.
