IIT-Kanpur grad teaches Kaithal students to build apps with AI

The Hartron Advanced Skill Centre in Kaithal hosted an interactive session on artificial intelligence on Friday. Sahil Dhull, a computer science graduate from IIT-Kanpur with a published research paper and a patent in machine learning and human-computer interaction, guided students on building efficiently with AI.

Session Highlights

Centre head Balinder Dhull welcomed the entrepreneur and technologist, noting his nine years of experience at Adobe Research and Cohesity in India and the Bay Area. Dhull is currently building futuristic AGI and wearable interfaces after developing proactive AI agents for his previous startup.

Addressing the gathering, Sahil Dhull urged students not to feel intimidated by technology. He emphasized that curiosity is the only essential trait, stating that everything else is just an excuse in today's age.

Live Demonstrations

Using only freely available tools such as Claude and ChatGPT—without any paid subscription—Dhull demonstrated how anyone can build software using natural language and voice commands. In minutes, he created a live website and a working application in front of the students. He also explained how these tools can be applied to everyday tasks and academic work.

Dhull encouraged students and teachers to experiment freely and to view AI not as a threat but as a tool that amplifies the capabilities of a curious mind. He remarked, "AI won't replace humans, but people who use AI will replace those who do not."

The session concluded with a Q&A, where participants expressed enthusiasm about integrating AI into their projects and studies.
