Asus Ascent QN10: A New Era for Mini-PCs
At Computex 2026, Asus unveiled the Ascent QN10, marking a significant milestone as the first mini-PC to harness the power of Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 Elite platform. This compact device, housed in a mere 0.7-litre chassis, is 86% smaller than a standard 5-litre mini-PC, yet it packs an impressive array of components.
Performance and AI Capabilities
The Ascent QN10 is powered by an 18-core Oryon CPU, an Adreno X2 GPU, and a Hexagon NPU capable of 80 TOPS (trillion operations per second). This makes it the most powerful Copilot+ PC in the mini-PC category, at least for now. The NPU's 80 TOPS performance enables the QN10 to run full AI agents locally, eliminating the need for cloud dependency. It can handle agentic AI frameworks such as OpenClaw, Hermes, Cursor, and Claude Desktop directly on-device, managing multi-step tasks like drafting emails or summarizing documents without sending data to the cloud. Qualcomm positions this as a hybrid architecture, where lightweight tasks are routed to the NPU, while cloud APIs are used for heavier workloads. Developers can access the Qualcomm AI Hub to deploy and fine-tune on-device models.
Connectivity and Expandability
Despite its small footprint of 130 x 130mm, the QN10 offers extensive connectivity options. It features seven USB ports, including three USB4, three USB 3.2 Gen 2, and one USB 2.0. Additionally, it includes HDMI 2.1, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. The system supports quad 4K display output, making it suitable for multi-monitor creative setups and digital signage deployments. Memory is configurable up to 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM running at 9,600MHz.
Security and Software
Security is ensured through fTPM 2.0 and Microsoft Pluton. Asus also bundles a one-month trial of Adobe Creative Cloud with the device.
