AICTE QIP PG Certificate Programmes 2026 for Faculty

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has introduced the AICTE-QIP-PG Certificate Programme in Emerging Areas, aimed at enhancing the academic growth of faculty members from core engineering disciplines. This initiative is designed to equip teachers with knowledge and skills in cutting-edge technologies, thereby improving the quality of technical education delivered to students across India.

Programme Overview

The programme focuses on preparing faculty to teach industry-relevant subjects by providing exposure to rapidly evolving technological fields. Conducted in a hybrid mode over six months, the programme carries 18 credits and is offered through premier institutions of national importance, including IISc, IITs, NITs, and IIITs. For the July–December 2026 session, a total of 41 programmes are available in computational and management segments.

Focus on Emerging Technologies

Announcing the programme, AICTE Chairman Prof. Yogesh Singh emphasized the council’s commitment to continuously upgrading faculty capabilities in technical education. He noted that technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Quantum Computing are reshaping industries, and several emerging technologies will influence future developments across sectors. According to him, India’s demand for skilled engineers, researchers, and innovators can be fulfilled through quality technical education supported by well-trained teachers. He stated that equipping faculty with contemporary knowledge and industry exposure would help prepare students for innovation, research, and global opportunities.
