TriZetto's Role in Cognizant's Healthcare Business
TriZetto is a critical component of Cognizant's healthcare operations. Cognizant acquired the healthcare technology firm in 2014 for $2.7 billion and has since integrated its software platforms into a broader suite of healthcare services. Today, Cognizant supports more than 200 million healthcare members in the United States and processes over $500 billion in annual healthcare spending across claims, eligibility, prior authorization, and payment integrity workflows.
Prior Authorization Challenges in US Healthcare
Prior authorization has emerged as one of the most significant pain points in the US healthcare system. According to the latest survey by the American Medical Association, 95% of physicians reported that prior authorization requirements delay access to necessary care. Additionally, physicians and their staff spend an average of 13 hours each week completing authorization requests.
TriZetto's portfolio of healthcare software products assists insurers, healthcare providers, and other industry stakeholders in improving administrative efficiency, managing costs, enhancing quality of care, supporting revenue growth, and improving member and patient experiences.
