MSU Vadodara cuts BCA fees after ABVP protests

Vadodara: Following protests by members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad over fee hikes, the Maharaja Sayajirao University on Monday announced a reduction in fees for its BCA programme for the academic year 2026-27.

Fee Structure and Intake Capacity

Faculty of Science dean Prof Vipul Kalamkar said the intake capacity for the BCA programme will continue to remain 240 seats, including 40 supernumerary seats. The university has fixed the fees for regular seats at Rs 50,500, while fees for special category seats will be Rs 1.21 lakh.

Examination Mode Change

The Faculty of Science also announced that all entrance examinations conducted by the faculty will be held only in offline mode.

Background of Protests

Earlier in the day, ABVP activists staged a protest inside the chamber of the university’s vice-chancellor demanding a rollback of the fee hike and raising concerns over the admission process.
