Maharashtra Cyber Case Against Telegram Seller for CSAM

MUMBAI: Maharashtra Cyber has registered a case against a Telegram-based seller for allegedly dealing in Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Material (CSEAM). Acting on specific intelligence, Maharashtra Cyber initiated a search operation for the accused. According to information, the operation involved continuous monitoring of the digital ecosystem, including the dark net and other online platforms, as reported by PTI.

Police said, "Maharashtra Cyber also conducted technical verification and intelligence-based analysis, including examining a UPI ID. Field inquiries and open-source intelligence helped trace the whereabouts of Adiraj Rajendra Bait, who was brought in for questioning. His mobile phone was seized for digital forensic examination."

According to an official, forensic analysis revealed that the accused had allegedly stored child sexual exploitative material on the device for the purpose of selling and further circulation. The department subsequently registered a criminal case and handed over the custody of the accused to the NRI police station in Navi Mumbai.

Further investigation is currently underway in the case, with appropriate legal action being taken. The authorities are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the accused faces the full force of the law.
