The new initiative, named 'PreSecure', enables travelers to reserve a preferred security screening slot before arriving at the airport, streamlining the pre-boarding process.
How PreSecure Works
Passengers can access the PreSecure feature through the BLR Pulse mobile application. By selecting a convenient time slot, travelers can bypass standard queues and proceed directly to a dedicated security lane at the designated time. The system aims to minimize congestion and enhance the overall passenger experience.
Benefits for Travelers
The trial service offers several advantages. It allows passengers to plan their airport arrival more efficiently, reducing the stress of unpredictable wait times. Additionally, it helps distribute passenger flow more evenly throughout the day, easing pressure on security checkpoints during peak hours.
Implementation and Future Plans
Currently in its trial phase, PreSecure is available for select flights and terminals. Airport authorities will monitor the service closely, collecting feedback to refine the system. If successful, the initiative could be expanded to cover all terminals and airlines operating at KIA.
This move is part of a broader effort by Kempegowda International Airport to leverage technology for improved operational efficiency and passenger satisfaction. The airport has consistently invested in digital solutions, including the BLR Pulse app, which already offers features such as real-time flight updates, parking availability, and retail information.
Travelers are encouraged to download the BLR Pulse app and try the PreSecure service during the trial period. The airport advises passengers to arrive at the security checkpoint at least 15 minutes before their reserved slot to ensure a smooth experience.
