Kaushambi Police Return 102 Lost Mobile Phones

Prayagraj: Kaushambi police recovered and handed over 102 lost mobile phones worth about Rs 23 lakh to their owners on Thursday. This followed several complaints from the public received by the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal.

Phones Recovered Across 13 Police Stations

“Police recovered 102 mobile sets in 13 police stations, including Sarayakil (15), Saini (14), Paschim Sarira (14), Karari (10), Charwa (10), Majhanpur (9), Kokhraj (8), Kada Dham (7), Maheva Ghat (5), Kaushambi (3), Pipri (3), Mohabbatpur Painsa (2) and Sandipan Ghat (2), and returned them to their owners,” a senior official said.

Methods Used for Recovery

He added that evidence such as call detail records, CCTV footage, location tracking and the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal was used to identify and retrieve the phones.
