IIT Kanpur has announced a groundbreaking undergraduate program called B.Cyber, designed specifically for young ethical hackers. The program aims to produce future cyber warriors by combining rigorous academic foundations with real-world cybersecurity challenges.
Admission Through Hackathon
Unlike traditional admissions, candidates will be selected based on their performance in a hackathon. This unique approach ensures that only the most talented and passionate individuals gain entry.
Specialized Coursework and Internship
The B.Cyber curriculum includes specialized coursework tailored to cybersecurity, along with a two-year internship at security agencies. This hands-on experience is intended to prepare students for the evolving threats in the digital world.
Professor Manindra Agrawal of IIT Kanpur shared the news on social media, highlighting the program's focus on ethical hackers and its potential to create future cybersecurity leaders. The official IIT Kanpur account also promoted the program as a first-of-its-kind initiative.
The program is expected to attract young talents who are already making headlines in cybersecurity. By providing a structured pathway, IIT Kanpur aims to nurture these skills and channel them into national security efforts.
