In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Godda police arrested three individuals and seized 2.78 grams of brown sugar during a raid conducted late on Monday near Pratappur Hatiya under the Motiya Outpost limits. The operation was initiated based on a tip-off regarding a group gathering to consume and sell narcotics under a banyan tree on the Khatnai–Pratappur Hatiya–Amadakamat road.

Details of the Raid

Addressing the media on Tuesday, Godda Superintendent of Police (SP) Mukesh Kumar revealed that the raiding team, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Akash Bhardwaj, conducted thorough searches around Khatnai Shiv Temple and Pratappur Hatiya. The team successfully apprehended three suspects who were allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade.

Arrested Individuals

The DSP confirmed the identities of the arrested persons as Satyajit Paswan (19), Gaurav Kumar (22), and Balamukund Sah (40), all residents of Khatnai village. The trio have been remanded to judicial custody as per legal procedures. Further investigations are underway to determine the source of the contraband and any potential links to larger drug networks.
