CM Yogi calls for AI, cybersecurity, space science training in colleges

Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday called upon educational institutions under Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad to equip students with skills in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity and space science, while also strengthening efforts to make farmers self-reliant through advanced agricultural practices.

Chairing the parishad’s general meeting at the Gorakhnath temple, the CM, who is also president of Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad, said society must prepare itself for future challenges by empowering both youth and the farming community. He directed institutions to align their academic programmes with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) and focus on employment-oriented education.

“Students should acquire skills that help them secure opportunities after graduation and meet the demands of a rapidly changing world,” he said.

Focus on advanced training

The CM asked the Maharana Pratap Institute of Technology and the Centre of Excellence to provide training in advanced fields, including AI, cybersecurity and space science, to prepare youth from eastern Uttar Pradesh for emerging career opportunities.

Agricultural development stressed

Emphasising agricultural development, Yogi Adityanath said Krishi Vigyan Kendras should intensify efforts to connect farmers with modern farming techniques and promote self-reliance. He also stressed the need to expand healthcare services and ensure greater outreach to the public.

The CM said that Digvijay Nath L.T Training College would be renamed as Digvijay Nath College of Teachers Education.

Centenary preparations

The CM also directed all institutions to begin preparations for the centenary celebrations of Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad in 2032.
