The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has initiated a major digital transformation in the Class 12 revaluation process, introducing scanned answer sheet access and technology-driven assessment reforms. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced this on Thursday after a meeting with CBSE officials in Delhi, highlighting efforts to improve transparency and accountability.
Key Highlights of the Digital Revaluation System
Nearly 17 lakh students appeared for the examinations, generating around 98 lakh answer copies and almost 40 crore scanned pages. For the first time, CBSE has implemented a fully digital evaluation system. Students can now access scanned copies of their answer sheets, verify marks, and raise objections directly through the portal. According to the minister, nearly 4 lakh students have already accessed their answer sheets, covering around 11 lakh copies.
Institutional Support and Integration
The process is supported by premier institutions including IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras. Public sector banks such as SBI, Indian Bank, Bank of Baroda, and Canara Bank have integrated payment gateways for smoother operations. This collaboration ensures a seamless experience for students seeking revaluation.
Government Acknowledgment of Discrepancies
Dharmendra Pradhan acknowledged that some discrepancies had emerged during the process and said the government accepts responsibility for corrective action. He assured that no student grievance would remain unresolved and that accountability would be fixed at every level. The announcement comes amid growing public discussion over board exam transparency, digital evaluation methods, and the need for faster and more student-friendly rechecking systems in India's education sector.
