The first batch of 16 students of the ultra-high purity (UHP) semiconductor welding programme has successfully completed the course offered by the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Dholera, as announced by the state government on Tuesday. The second batch has already commenced its training.
Collaboration with Tata Indian Institute of Skills
The programme is conducted in collaboration with the Tata Indian Institute of Skills (TATA IIS) and Tata Electronics, alongside the state government. This initiative marks the first of its kind in the country, where a cleanroom training facility for semiconductors has been established at an ITI and linked directly to commercial semiconductor fabs currently under development.
Industry-Ready Training
The government stated that details of the trained students have been shared with the semiconductor industry to facilitate their employment. This programme aims to create a skilled workforce tailored to the needs of the growing semiconductor sector in India.
