RCB Crush DC by Nine Wickets, Jump to Second in IPL 2026

Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru continued their exceptional run in IPL 2026, defeating Delhi Capitals by nine wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Monday. The dominant victory marked RCB's sixth win of the season in eight matches, elevating their points tally to 12 in the IPL standings.

RCB Consolidate Second Spot

With this win, RCB strengthened their position in second place and closed the gap on league leaders Punjab Kings, who sit atop the table with 13 points from seven games. The comprehensive performance was a memorable one for RCB, as they bowled out hosts Delhi Capitals for a meager 75 runs in 16.3 overs before chasing the target in just 6.3 overs. Virat Kohli sealed the victory in style, hitting back-to-back sixes off T Natarajan.

Net Run Rate Boost

The emphatic win also significantly improved RCB's net run rate (NRR), which could prove crucial as the race for the playoffs intensifies. RCB now boast the best NRR of the season at +1.919, slightly ahead of leaders Punjab Kings, who have an NRR of +1.333.

Updated Points Table

The two points also moved RCB ahead of third-placed Sunrisers Hyderabad and fourth-placed Rajasthan Royals, both of whom had 10 points before the match. Beyond the top four playoff spots, the rest of the standings remain unchanged: Gujarat Titans (8 points) in fifth, followed by Chennai Super Kings (6 points), Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders (5 points), Mumbai Indians (4 points), and Lucknow Super Giants (4 points).
