Gujarat Titans' mentor Parthiv Patel has refused to divulge the team's plans for young batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi ahead of the IPL 2026 final against Rajasthan Royals. Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Patel acknowledged the threat posed by the Royals but expressed confidence in his side's preparation.
Parthiv Patel on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
When asked about specific strategies for Sooryavanshi, Patel said, "I cannot reveal what plans we have made for him. He is a talented player, but we have our own strengths." The 19-year-old Sooryavanshi has been in scintillating form this season, amassing over 500 runs at a strike rate of 145.
Rajasthan Royals' Strengths
Patel warned that Rajasthan Royals are a dangerous side, especially in their home conditions. "They have a balanced squad with experienced players like Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler, and their bowling attack is equally potent. We cannot take them lightly," he added.
Gujarat Titans' Confidence
Despite the challenge, Patel exuded confidence in his team's ability to secure the title. "We have worked hard throughout the tournament, and the boys are in good spirits. We believe we can punch the final ticket and bring the trophy home," said the former India wicketkeeper.
The IPL 2026 final is scheduled to be held on May 30 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Gujarat Titans finished second in the league stage, while Rajasthan Royals topped the table. Both teams have met twice this season, with each winning one match.
Patel also praised the team's bowling unit, led by Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan, for their consistency. "Our bowlers have done a phenomenal job, especially in the death overs. That will be crucial in the final," he noted.
As the cricketing world awaits the summit clash, fans are eager to see whether Gujarat Titans can replicate their 2022 triumph or if Rajasthan Royals will claim their second IPL title. The match promises to be a thrilling encounter between two well-matched sides.
