NEW DELHI: Gujarat Titans stormed to the top of the IPL 2026 points table after registering a commanding 82-run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. The emphatic win not only strengthened Gujarat Titans' playoff chances but also gave a significant boost to their net run rate during the crucial final phase of the league stage.
Led by Shubman Gill, Gujarat Titans have now played 12 matches, winning eight and losing four. They currently sit at the top of the standings with 16 points and a healthy net run rate of +0.551.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, meanwhile, slipped to third place following the heavy defeat. SRH have played 12 matches so far, winning seven and losing five. They remain on 14 points with a net run rate of +0.331.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru occupy the second position on the table with 14 points from 11 matches and boast the best net run rate in the competition at +1.103 after winning seven and losing four matches.
Punjab Kings are placed fourth with 13 points from 11 games, having won six matches, lost four and one ending in no result. Their net run rate stands at +0.428.
Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals are fifth and sixth respectively with 12 points each from 11 matches. CSK have a net run rate of +0.185, while RR's NRR is +0.082.
Further down the table, Delhi Capitals are seventh with 10 points from 12 matches and an NRR of -0.993. Kolkata Knight Riders are eighth with nine points from 10 games.
Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants have already been eliminated from the playoff race. Both teams have managed only three wins in 11 matches and remain on six points.
