In Assam's Golaghat Assembly Constituency (number 103), the verdict was decisive as Ajanta Neog of the Bharatiya Janata Party registered a landslide victory. She polled 1,02,212 votes, defeating Indian National Congress candidate Bitupan Saikia by a massive margin of 43,759 votes, underscoring the BJP's deepening influence in the region.
Scale of Victory
The scale of the win reflects both a strong personal mandate for Neog and the party's organisational strength on the ground. Other contenders, including Independent candidate Rubul Borah, remained marginal with minimal vote shares, while NOTA also saw limited traction. The result mirrors the broader trend across Assam, where the BJP has not only retained its base but significantly widened the gap over the opposition.
