A 30-year-old man lost his life, and two of his friends sustained severe injuries after the motorcycle they were riding triple-seat collided with a divider on the flyover at Bhosari in Pune. The accident occurred in the early hours of Saturday when the trio was traveling towards Bhosari from Khed, according to the Bhosari police.
Victim Identified
The deceased has been identified as Rahul Lagade, a resident of Khed. An officer from the Bhosari police station stated that Lagade, along with his friends Prasad Gaikwad and Dinesh Ovhal, was heading towards Bhosari from Khed in the early hours of Saturday. Upon reaching the flyover at Bhosari, Lagade lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into the divider.
Injuries and Aftermath
Lagade died on the spot due to the impact of the collision. Ovhal sustained severe injuries, while Gaikwad suffered fractures on his left hand. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances leading to the accident.
Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution and avoid triple-seat riding, which is not only illegal but also significantly increases the risk of accidents. The flyover at Bhosari has witnessed several mishaps in the past, prompting calls for better safety measures.
