A village football academy in Punjab has emerged as a beacon of hope for underprivileged children, steering them away from streets and into sports. The academy recently played a pivotal role in India's runners-up finish at the Street Child World Cup 2026, showcasing its impact on young lives.
Free Training and Holistic Support
During the season, the academy trains nearly 250 children completely free of cost. Beyond football coaching, it also covers hostel accommodation, meals, and dietary requirements for many young players, ensuring their overall well-being.
Transforming Communities
By keeping children engaged in football, the academy prevents them from falling into harmful street activities. It instills discipline, teamwork, and ambition, turning them into responsible individuals. The initiative has become a model for rural sports development in India.
The academy's success at the international level has inspired other villages to adopt similar programs, highlighting the power of grassroots sports in creating positive social change.
