Truck kills 2, injures 2 in Seoni village accident

A tragic accident occurred in Seoni district on Saturday night when a speeding heavy truck veered off the road and crashed into a group of villagers sitting outside a house in Sarrahirri village under Kurai area. The incident resulted in the deaths of two men and left two others critically injured.

Details of the Incident

The truck, which lost control, rammed into the courtyard of a roadside house. Sukhmal Bhalavi, 45, died on the spot, while Ranjit Saryam, 41, succumbed to his injuries on the way to the district hospital. Two other injured individuals, Sandeep Marskole and Chandrabhan Verma, both aged 36, were initially admitted to the district hospital and later referred to Nagpur in critical condition for advanced medical treatment.

Police Response

Upon receiving information about the accident, police and local administrative officials rushed to the scene. The damaged heavy truck was seized and parked at Badalpar police outpost. The bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem examination. The driver of the truck fled the spot after abandoning the vehicle, according to police statements.

Local Reaction

The incident sparked anger and grief in the village. Locals alleged that speeding heavy vehicles have become a recurring threat in the area and have caused several accidents in the past as well. They demanded stricter enforcement of traffic rules to prevent such tragedies.
