Nikhil Thakur played an unbeaten knock of 69 runs off 49 balls to steer HIIMS Hawks to a comfortable six-wicket victory over Royal Titans in the Chandigarh Premier League at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Sector 3, Panchkula. The Hawks chased down the target of 160 in 18.2 overs, losing only four wickets.

Batting first, Royal Titans posted a competitive total of 159 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs. Sanchit Sahu top-scored with 49 runs off 37 balls, while Sohail Khan contributed 35 off 23 deliveries. Amrit Lal Lubana added 19 runs. For the Hawks, Manhar Bawa was the standout bowler, claiming four wickets while conceding 35 runs in his four overs.

Hawks chase down target

In reply, the Hawks reached 165 for 4, with Nikhil Thakur remaining unbeaten on 69, hitting six boundaries and two sixes. Manan Vohra scored 33, Kartik Vardhan made 28, and Nipunn Sharda added 19 runs to ensure a smooth chase.

Capital Strikers dominate Bashers

In another match, Capital Strikers registered a convincing nine-wicket victory over Tricity Bashers. Batting first, Bashers could only manage 130 runs, with Ankit Kaushik top-scoring with 59 and Hardik Chaudhary contributing 27. Sahibjeet Singh picked three wickets for the Strikers. In response, the Strikers reached the target with just one wicket down, thanks to an unbeaten 71 off 41 balls by Gurtaj Singh and 56 by Nehal Pajni.

International Yoga Day observed

Players and officials of the league also observed International Yoga Day during the tournament. A yoga session was conducted by Acharya Manish in the presence of UTCA founder president Sanjay Tandon. Participants included players from all four teams, match officials, and league management members.
