National Youth clinched the Dhaneshwari Devi memorial cricket tournament title on Monday. They defeated Bharat Club by 27 runs in a thrilling final at the Chandra Cricket ground in Mandhana, Kanpur.
National Youth Sets a Strong Target
National Youth opted to bat first after winning the toss. They posted a competitive total of 246 runs in their allotted 35 overs. Devansh Swarup led the charge with a magnificent century, scoring 102 runs. Divyanshu Pandey provided solid support with a valuable 60-run contribution.
Bharat Club Falls Short in Chase
Bharat Club began their reply with determination. They managed to score 219 runs in 34 overs before being bowled out. Shiva Rajput top-scored with 72 runs, while Yuvraj Singh added 36 and Manu Singh contributed 37. However, their efforts proved insufficient against a disciplined National Youth bowling attack.
Dhanesh Chauhan's Match-Winning Performance
Dhanesh Chauhan emerged as the hero for National Youth. He delivered an outstanding bowling spell, claiming six crucial wickets. His performance dismantled Bharat Club's batting lineup and secured the victory. Chauhan deservedly received the Man of the Match award for his exceptional contribution.
After the final, chief guest Anuradha Awasthi, the Block Pramukh of Kalyanpur, presented prizes to both teams. She congratulated National Youth for their win and commended Bharat Club for their spirited performance.

In the KDMA League, YMCC secured a five-wicket victory over Kanpur Eaglets Club at the Everest ground. Kanpur Eaglets batted first and scored 202 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 40 overs. YMCC chased down the target comfortably, scoring 207 runs for five wickets. Utkarsh Tiwari played a match-winning innings, remaining unbeaten on 127 runs.
Olympic Club also registered a convincing win against Kesco at the Sapru ground. They posted a massive total of 337 runs for five wickets, with Veer Pratap scoring a century. Kesco could only manage 106 runs in reply, losing by a huge margin of 231 runs.
At the PAC ground, BL Jasrai Club defeated Cantt. Lions by nine wickets. Cantt. Lions were bowled out for 168 runs, while BL Jasrai chased down the target easily, scoring 171 runs for the loss of just one wicket. Swar Tandon remained unbeaten on 92 runs, and Monu Pal scored 61 not out.
