Speaking at the event, Mahela Jayawardene emphasized the importance of enjoying competition at a young age. "This is our sixth year of organising MI Junior and it's getting more exciting every year. Sports is about participating and at this age, it is about enjoying the competition more than anything," he said. Jayawardene highlighted the iconic venue, noting that many Indian cricketers, including Hardik Pandya, have trained there. He encouraged the youngsters to use this as inspiration to develop their skills and aspire to play for Mumbai Indians in the future.

The finals featured intense competition across three age groups. In the Boys U-16 category, Anjuman-I-Islam Allana English School secured their second title with a narrow 3-run victory over Sitaram Prakash High School. Key performances included:

  • Anjuman-I-Islam Allana English School: Yuvan Sharma's explosive 52 runs off 20 balls propelled the team to a total of 253 runs. Kabir Jagtap (41), Laxmanprasad Vishwakarma (39), and Ramprasad Vishwakarma (38) also contributed significantly.
  • Sitaram Prakash High School: Opener Aayush Shete played a heroic innings, scoring 155 runs, but fell just short as his team finished at 250/6.

In other categories, VK Krishna Menon Academy won the Boys U-14 title, while Modern English School triumphed in the Girls U-15 division. Brief scores from these matches are as follows:
