Konkan Railway Cracks Down on Ticketless Travel

Konkan Railway has intensified its efforts to curb ticketless travel, conducting extensive ticket checking drives across its network. In April alone, the railway zone organized 934 special drives, detecting 37,000 cases of unauthorized and irregular travelers. A total of Rs 2.9 crore was collected from these passengers as due railway fare and penalties.

Financial Year 2025-26 Overview

During the entire financial year 2025-26, Konkan Railway conducted a cumulative total of 11,394 special ticket checking drives. These drives resulted in the detection of 4,99,675 cases of unauthorized and irregular travelers. The railway recovered a substantial amount of Rs 27.7 crore in the form of railway fare and penalties from these passengers.

Appeal to Passengers

Konkan Railway has appealed to all passengers to travel with valid tickets to avoid inconvenience during their journey. The railway emphasizes that traveling without a valid ticket is not only illegal but also leads to unnecessary delays and penalties.

Upcoming Summer Drives

In preparation for the upcoming summer holiday season, Konkan Railway plans to conduct intensified ticket-checking drives across its entire route. These drives will be carried out in coordination with Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and railway officials. The objective is to ensure safe, secure, and comfortable travel for all bona fide passengers.

The railway administration has urged passengers to cooperate with the checking teams and purchase tickets before boarding. Regular travelers are advised to opt for season tickets or other available concessions to avoid any inconvenience.
