Kanpur's Young Cricketers Deliver Exciting Performances in Memorial Tournaments
Kanpur witnessed a thrilling display of youth cricket talent on Monday as several academies and clubs competed in memorial tournaments across the city. The action-packed day featured dominant wins and impressive individual performances that highlighted the growing skill of young players in the region.
Sunil Kumar Tiwari Memorial Under-13 League Kicks Off
The inaugural match of the 1st Sunil Kumar Tiwari Memorial Under-13 Inter Cricket Academy League took place at the Kanpur South ground. HS Academy emerged victorious over Yashraj Academy by a comfortable margin of seven wickets.
Yashraj Academy batted first and managed to score 65 runs in their allotted 19 overs. HS Academy chased down the target efficiently, reaching 66 runs for the loss of only three wickets.
In another match at the A ground, Kapil Cricket Academy delivered a commanding performance against Nagar Nigam Cricket Academy. Kapil Cricket Academy won by nine wickets after chasing down the target with ease.
Nagar Nigam Academy scored 128 runs for the loss of eight wickets when they batted first. Kapil Cricket Academy responded strongly, scoring 131 runs for the loss of just one wicket in 16.3 overs.
The championship began with an inauguration ceremony. Sanjay Kapoor, chairman of the Kanpur Cricket Association, officially opened the tournament. Sanjay Tiwari, vice-president of KCA, welcomed the chief guest. Several KCA office-bearers attended the event to support the young cricketers.
