Ahmedabad: Four youths lost their lives and three others sustained serious injuries after an SUV overturned on the Dholka-Bagodara road near Valthara village on Thursday afternoon. The group was traveling from Bareja to Bhamsara to attend an engagement ceremony when the tragic incident occurred.
Details of the Accident
According to preliminary information, six occupants were inside the SUV when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle near the Bapa Sitaram temple on the outskirts of Valthara. The SUV veered off the road and flipped over, leaving the passengers trapped inside.
Casualties and Injuries
Three youths died on the spot due to critical injuries, while another succumbed during treatment at Sola Civil Hospital. The deceased have been identified as Sagar Solanki and Prem Chunara, both residents of Bareja, and Devang Datt, a resident of Chandlodia. The fourth victim, who died in the hospital, was also part of the same group. Among the three individuals who suffered serious injuries is Gaurav, the fiancé-to-be. Their condition is reported to be critical.
Rescue Operations and Investigation
Police teams reached the spot shortly after the accident and carried out rescue and relief operations with the assistance of locals. The wrecked vehicle was later cleared from the road to ease traffic movement. Officials stated that the exact cause of the accident remains under investigation. Authorities are examining whether overspeeding or loss of control of the vehicle led to the mishap. Further inquiry is underway.
